Meeting summaries

22 January 2026

The Planning Working Group submitted its report to the January 22nd Steering Group meeting. This was very well received by all present. Minor modifications and additions were suggested, and these were completed prior to the Steering Group meeting of 5th February where approval for publication following proofreading was given. The Draft Consultation Report was subsequently published on the Sunningwell Parish Council website on 17 February 2026.

12 January 2026

The first 2026 face-to-face meeting of the Planning Working Group was in Bayworth Chapel Hall on 12th January.

The Planning Working Group had already been working closely with the Traffic & Transport Working Group as there is overlap on some of the topic areas, and both groups share very similar challenges from the developments adjacent to Sunningwell, to the extent that they had shared the same map for the presentation at the Steering Group meeting in December in the Village Hall.

Consequently, it was decided to invite the Traffic & Transport Working Group to attend the Planning WG meeting, and vice versa.

Before the meeting, drafts of the Planning WG report had been circulated for comment and revision, and this was further discussed. It was agreed that, with edits, it was sufficiently well progressed to be submitted as a draft to the Steering Group by the end of this week.

Suggested questions to pose to the parish had also been generated, and it was agreed that these be sent to the Steering Group for consideration for inclusion in the wider questionnaire.

28 October, 18 November, 1 and 7 December 2025

The Planning Working Group met at the Barn Café in Sunningwell on 28th October and 1st December, as well as at Beaulieu Court on 18th November and at map-session in Bayworth Chapel Hall on 7th December. The Group presented its progress at the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group Meeting on 9th December in Sunningwell Village Hall.

The Group is collating a summary of developments in and around Sunningwell Parish, including those which have already happened or are in construction on what used to be Sunningwell land. For future developments the Group will summarise and quantify the actual status of proposals, approvals and timelines from what are often multiple sources of apparently conflicting information.

The Group will then be consulting with the parish in the New Year how best to respond to the challenges that these developments will raise.
