In 2022 the parish council funded the clearing of the excessive build-up of silt in the village pond and, as was forecast in the Council’s New Year Message for 2023, the village pond area has now been further tidied up by the pollarding of the rather overgrown weeping willow and other vegetation surrounding the pond was pruned back. So it was good to see that water voles are enjoying their new cleaned up home. Here is a water vole photographed and filmed 28th February 2023 in Sunningwell village pond.
